About NYTCross

NYTCross.com is an independent reference for the daily New York Times Crossword. Every weekday at 10pm ET (and Saturday at 6pm ET for the Sunday puzzle), the NYT publishes a new grid edited by Will Shortz — and within minutes, the full answer key appears here, ready to unlock when you’re stuck or just want to confirm a tricky letter.

Each date page shows the complete filled-in grid with reveal controls, every Across and Down clue, and a deep link to each individual clue’s answer page. We back our coverage with the official NYT Games puzzle data, so what you see here is exactly what shipped in the app that day.

Looking for a specific clue you can’t crack? The cluelist on each date page is searchable inside your browser (Cmd+F / Ctrl+F).

Frequently Asked Questions

What time is the new NYT Crossword puzzle released each day?
The NYT publishes the next day’s daily crossword at 10:00 PM Eastern Time Sunday through Thursday, and the Sunday puzzle is released at 6:00 PM Eastern Time on the preceding Saturday. We import each day’s answers within minutes of release.
Is this site affiliated with The New York Times?
No. NYTCross.com is an independent reference site and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to The New York Times Company. The New York Times Crossword® and all related trademarks are property of The New York Times Company.
Why are some grids bigger than 15×15?
The standard weekday and Saturday puzzle is 15×15. The Sunday puzzle is larger — typically 21×21 — and includes a theme that ties many of the long across answers together. Occasionally the NYT publishes special-sized variants for holidays, tournaments, or themed events. Our renderer adapts to whatever size shipped.
How far back does your archive go?
We currently cover every NYT Crossword from January 1, 2025 through today — over 500 puzzles and more than 40,000 individual clues. We’re actively backfilling older years.
Can I just see the answer to one specific clue?
Yes — each clue has its own dedicated page. Open the date page for the puzzle the clue appeared in, then click any clue to jump to its detail page with the answer broken down letter-by-letter. The cluelist on each date page is also searchable with your browser’s Find function (Cmd+F or Ctrl+F).
